Lambda’s instance pricing page listed B200, H100, and other GPUs but no on-demand H200 instance on our check date. Configurations and billing units differ between providers, so the hourly rate alone is not a like-for-like comparison.

03 / AWS, AZURE, AND GOOGLE CLOUD

The big three clouds.
Eight GPUs at a time.

The largest clouds sell H200 and B200 as eight-GPU instances. These are published Linux rates in each cloud’s main US region. Per GPU-hour figures are our calculation: the instance rate divided by eight.

The AWS figures were read from AWS’s published on-demand price data, and the Azure figure from Microsoft’s Retail Prices API. Azure did not list the H200 instance in East US, and its price list showed GB200-based instances rather than an HGX B200 instance. Google’s Flex-start runs your job when capacity frees up, so it is not the same as on-demand.

Google Cloud discounts

For the H200 instance in Iowa, a 3-year committed use discount lists at $37.21 per hour, about $4.65 per GPU-hour. Flex-start lists at $42.40, about $5.30. For B200, a 3-year commitment lists at $56.71, about $7.09 per GPU-hour, and Spot at $39.63, about $4.95.

Azure reservations

For ND96isr H200 v5 in East US 2, a 1-year reservation lists at $407,526 for the term, about $5.82 per GPU-hour. A 3-year reservation lists at $1,109,592, about $5.28 per GPU-hour. Both are our calculations over the full term.

How to read the gap

On demand, every specialist H200 rate above sits below all three hyperscalers. Hyperscaler discounts close much of the gap, but only with a multi-year commitment, a queued start, or interruptible capacity. See our AWS vs Azure vs Google Cloud comparison for H100.

04 / H100, H200, OR B200

Pay for the GPU
your workload needs.

Newer is not automatically better value. The right choice depends on how much memory your model needs and what a finished job costs, not the hourly rate.

The price step, same provider

  • Nebius: H100 $3.85, H200 $4.50, B200 $7.15 per GPU-hour
  • Runpod: H100 $3.49, H200 $4.59, B200 $6.79
  • CoreWeave, 8-GPU instance: H100 $49.24, H200 $50.44, B200 $68.80 per hour

H100 rates are from our GPU cloud pricing comparison, checked .

What the extra money buys

  • H200: 141 GB per GPU against the H100’s 80 GB, on the same Hopper software stack
  • B200: about 180 GB per GPU and NVIDIA’s newer Blackwell architecture
  • More memory can mean fewer GPUs for the same model, or longer context for inference

Specifications from NVIDIA’s H200 and B200 pages.

Compare the cost per job, not per hour.

A B200 that finishes a training run faster can cost less in total than a cheaper GPU that runs longer. It can also cost more if your workload cannot use its extra capability. Run a representative job on each candidate, then compare the total bill for the finished work.

05 / BEFORE YOU SIGN

Newer GPUs.
Tighter supply.

New GPU generations often come with shorter availability and more sales-led pricing. Ask every provider the same questions.

Availability and terms

  • Is capacity available now, in your region, at the GPU count you need?
  • Is the published rate the rate you will pay after any announced increase?
  • Does a commitment reserve GPUs, or only lower the rate?
  • What happens to your price at renewal?

Configuration and total cost

  • GPU variant and memory per GPU
  • Billing unit: per GPU or per 8-GPU instance
  • Network between servers for multi-node jobs
  • Storage, data transfer, support, and taxes

How much does an H200 cost per hour?

In our September 22, 2026 check, specialist GPU clouds published on-demand H200 rates of $4.29 to about $6.31 per GPU-hour. AWS listed about $7.91, and Azure and Google Cloud about $10.60, for eight-GPU instances. Rates vary by region and change over time.

How much does a B200 cost per hour?

Specialist clouds published on-demand B200 rates of $6.69 to $8.68 per GPU-hour in our check. AWS listed about $14.24 per GPU-hour for its eight-GPU instance. Google Cloud listed no on-demand B200 rate, only Flex-start, Spot, and commitment rates.

Are H200 and B200 prices going up?

At least one provider has announced increases. Nebius lists H200 rising from $4.50 to $5.40 and B200 from $7.15 to $8.50 per GPU-hour, effective October 1, 2026. Ask any provider whether a quote is protected from future list-price changes.

Should I rent H200 instead of H100?

Consider H200 when your model or context length needs more than 80 GB per GPU, or when it lets you use fewer GPUs. The same-provider premium in our check ranged from about 2 percent at CoreWeave to about 32 percent at Runpod. Benchmark your own workload before deciding.
